When you think of planning a vacation, money immediately comes to mind. How much will airfare cost? How much will a hotel cost? Not to mention, money for food, and spending money. Many people think they can’t afford to take a vacation, but it could be cheaper than you think!

If you’re traveling with family, consider a vacation rental. Renting a cabin by the lake might be cheaper than spending 200-300 dollars a night on multiple hotel rooms.

Find a cheap flight. You don’t necessarily have to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars to get where you’re going.

Choosing to fly can save you a lot of gas money and hassles that come along with traveling, especially during holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Shop around to ensure you get the best deal. Visit multiple websites such as priceline, hotwire, and travelocity.

Go somewhere local, or within a couple of states. If you have children then consider spending the weekend at a nearby amusement park. Most amusement parks have nearby motels and hotels for families and often provide discounts.

Perhaps you would prefer a nice weekend from home at a local bed and breakfast. This can be a romantic get-away for anyone looking to get away from home for a couple of days.

Plan for cheap fun. Just because you are vacationing, doesn’t mean you need to spend tons of money on things to do. Go to the local visitor’s center to get brochures on reasonably priced activities in the area.

Go camping. This will save you a great deal of money and you might not even need to spend any, at all! Pile the family in the car and take off to a local campsite and pitch a tent. Teach your kids how to fish, or spend the day hiking. Take a dip in the lake and tell ghost stories around the camp-fire! This is not only a fun family vacation but it can teach your kids the value of nature! (This is great for those of you who have kids that play video-games non-stop.)

Bring your own food. Mostly people who take vacations don’t think about this, but it can save you tons of money. Rather than eating out every day and night, bring a lot some food from your own pantry.

Stay with family. If you’re going to visit family or friend, then you usually don’t need to worry about spending cash on a hotel or rental. Don’t be afraid to ask if they have some spare room for you.

Make sure you take the right steps to get it the ball rolling.

When it comes to your career, you might be getting a little bored with working your normal, business job; same old things every single day. Maybe you’re ready for a new start, and you’ve chosen to start your own business, and what an exciting step it is, indeed! By starting a business you can’t make your own hours, and do what you love, all at the same time!

These tips will help you get started and ready to business in no time!

1) What is it you want to sell?

Whether is clothes, electronics, cakes, or furniture, there are a lot of things to take into consideration. How high of a demand is there for your product? Who is your ideal customer? Will there be plenty of people in your area interested in buying your products?

2) Do you have enough money saved up?

You’ve heard the saying, “In order to make money, you have to spend money.” It’s absolutely true! How much will it cost to buy or rent building space? How much will your supplies cost, etc.

3) What are you going to name your business?

This may sound like a simple enough questions, but it could make all the difference when it comes to whether or not customers decide to come into your store. What do you want your name to say about your store? Make a list of at least ten different names that you think you might use. Make them catchy, easy to say and easy to remember. Ask friends and family for their opinions so that you can better narrow down your options.

4) Find a place to rent or buy

Location is everything. Contact a Realtor to help you find a business location. Let them know what you’re looking for and the price range your interested in. Make sure you find somewhere that is going to fit your need. If you are opening a restaurant or bakery, the obvious choice would be to find somewhere that already has a kitchen.

5) Get your licenses and permits.

You will obviously need to get your business license but determining on what business you are opening there may be other permits you will need to acquire, as well, especially if you are selling liquor, firearms, etc.

6) Hire a decorator, if needed.

Many places attract more customers if they are drawn to the store visually. For example a bakery with colorful murals of cakes, cupcakes, and pies on the wall would probably draw in a better crowd than white, blank walls would.

Ignoring your bad credit can lead to life-altering consequences.

Having bad credit can potentially ruin your life if it’s not taken care of. It can prevent you from having not only things you want, but also things that you need.

Here are a few effects that bad credit can have on your life:

1) Difficulty finding an apartment

Most apartment properties run a thorough credit check before approving you. It can be difficult to be approved for an apartment with bad credit. This can be a huge problem and potentially leave you homeless or living with friends or family.

2) Being denied loans

If you have applied for a loan or credit recently, you may have found yourself being unapproved. Lenders don’t feel comfortable handing out money to people who have bad credit because it tells them you might be irresponsible with your money and possibly not end up paying them back.

3) Higher security deposits

Utility companies check your credit and base your security deposit off of it. For one person, their security deposit might be 20 dollars, but for someone with bad credit, it could potentially reach to over 500 dollars. This also applies even if you have always paid your utilities on time, but still have bad credit.

4) Unable to get a cell phone contract

If you have bad credit, getting a cell-phone under contract can sometime be nearly impossible. You will probably need to end up getting a pre-paid cell.

5) Unable to buy a car

This is a huge one. Banks will definitely check your credit before giving you a car loan. If you do happen to get approved, then you will most likely have sky-rocketing interest rates, making it difficult to pay off.

6) Being denied unemployment

I know this sounds crazy. Why would they deny me unemployment? What does that have to do with credit. This mostly applies to companies working in financial situations, though it is possible and legal for any employer to run a credit check before hiring you.

7) Non-stop calls from debt collectors

This is more annoying and frustrating than anything else. They usually won’t stop until they get the money you owe them. It can be overwhelming, and most people who have debt have it because they simple just aren’t able to pay it. You can prevent any further calls from these collectors by writing them a letter asking them to stop. They legally, then, must cut all contact with you.

8 ) Unable to get a credit card

This is a pretty obvious one. If you have debt with a previous credit card company or any type of debt for that matter, most credit card companies won’t be willing to work with you.

Buying a car can be pretty overwhelming. There are many things you must take into consideration before beginning the car-buying process.

Are you interested in buying a new, or used car?

New cars can be great. They normally come equipped with more things than a used car might. You don’t need to worry about any previous accidents on the cars history.

You also won’t be hit with unexpected problems, such as a bad transmission, engine, etc. They also won’t have high mileage; something that a used car might have.

Used cars can be a good way to go, too. You can find them much cheaper than you would a new car. It’s fairly easy to find a used car with a reasonable amount of miles on it, too. Craigslist can be a great place to shop around for used cars and they have countless options to choose from.

Do you want an automatic or manual?

I know, that I myself, am horrible when it comes to driving a stick-shift, but many people prefer it over an automatic. It’s really all about preference. If you’re not familiar with driving a manual then the obvious choice would be to try to find one that is an automatic.

How much space do you need?

If you’re young and this is your first car, you’re probably not going to be as likely to want a van, or something with a lot of space, as much as someone who has kids and a larger family. Do you need to haul a lot of thing? Then try looking for a pick-up truck, perhaps.

Do you need four wheel drive?

Four wheel drive definitely comes in handy during those tough winters, or back-road traveling. If you work near home, though, and don’t do much traveling, you probably won’t be as inclined to need it.

Does it need to have good mileage?

If you travel a lot for work, or just in general, then you are going to want to find a car that has good mileage. Anywhere from 30-40 mpg (miles per gallon) is pretty good. Most small sedans have excellent mileage. If you know good mileage is a must, then stray away from looking at sports cars, trucks, and larger vehicles. Most of these have low miles per gallon.

You might already have a specific car in mind, and that’s great! That will help narrow down your options significantly when it comes to purchasing a car.

Once you know what it is that you want, make a list and keep it handy when beginning your search for a car.

They will help you if you are open and honest about your situation.

You may find yourself unable to pay your bills or keep up on the monthly payments.

You’re going into panic mode and you fear your credit will be damaged.

It’s not too late to do something about it. Preventing a charge-off is one of the most beneficial things you can do for your credit.

First ask yourself these three questions.

1) Are you less than six months past due on your bills?

If the answer is yes, then you most likely still have time to prevent your bills from being handed over to a collection agency.

If the answer is no, then you need to contact your lender immediately to find out if your debt has been charged-off.

2) Have you contacted your lender to set up different payment arangements?

If the answer is yes, then fantastic! You made a responsible choice by contacting the lender. They appreciate honesty and will be more willing to work out a different payment plan if you let them.

If the answer is no, then just remember this. You don’t have to be afraid of the lender. They will help you as long as you give them the change to, rather than avoiding them and letting your debt pile up higher and higher.

3) Have you made a budget plan to estimate how much you can afford monthly to put toward your debt?

If the answer is yes, then you now have a better idea of what your money is being spent on and perhaps a few areas that you could afford to cut back on in order to set aside money to pay your lender.

If the answer is no, then make sure you make one soon, because the sooner you are able to figure out your finances, the better prepared you will be to get your debt paid off. If you’re not sure how to make a budget, just add up all of your monthly expenses, such as rent, utility bills, car payments, insurance, cell phone bill, gas, groceries, ect.

Subtract that amount from your monthly income and the amount left over should be your “savings.” If it’s $600, make a plan to set aside half of it for paying off debt, or whatever amount you think you can afford.

Ignoring your lender is a sure way to get yourself into deeper debt and I can assure you, you’re debt will be handed of to a collection agency which can take a big toll on yuor credit score. You will find yourself sleeping better at night, and less stressed once you have an orderly plan set up.
